Entertainment Weekly has an article on The Vampire’s Assistant movie:

Salma Hayek Plays a Bearded Lady
In Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant (out Oct. 23), Hayek costars as Madame Truska, the hiresute women in a traveling freak show and girlfriend of the titular vampire (John C. Reilly). The fantasy, based on the popular young-adult books, follows a boy (Chris Massoglia) who becomes an apprentice to Reilly’s vamp. Hayek’s character sprouts whiskers every time she gets passionate with her boyfriend. “So she needs to be very comfortable with herself, which Salma really is in real life,” says director Paul Weitz (About a Boy). “I thought, of all the people to have that problem, she’d be an interesting one.”

New picture of Salma Hayek?

Oh, Selma Hayek. So sexy you wouldn’t even notice that straggly beard on her angelic face. Oh you don’t see it? No? Well that’s because in a recently released photo of Hayek from Cirque du Freak, the presumed “bearded lady” is, well, beardless! The unimpressive pic was released by USAToday.com who talked to Hayek as well:

“It’s one of those vampire movies,” she says. “It’s very funny. It’s me with the beard.”

Hilarious. Now let’s see it missy! The kid-friendly fantasy film is an adaptation of the novels by Darren Shan and is directed by Paul Weitz.

Beard, handlebar mustache or full on chest hair; nothing can beat Selma Hayek’s snake dance in From Dusk Till Dawn. Hit the jump for the full pic of Hayek sans beard! Cirque du Freak is set to hit theaters sometime in 2009.
